Pastoral Care
Bereavement:
Members of this ministry assist the chaplain in giving assistance to
the bereaved. They may help with the
planning of a funeral or memorial service and help in planning a reception after
the funeral. They also contact other
ministries for assistance with child care, meal preparation or whatever is
needed. People in this ministry
should be willing to become familiar with funeral procedures and have a caring
approach toward people.
Healing:
The ministry of healing is
provided each Sunday for those needing prayers for either physical or emotional
problems. Those who feel called to
pray for others are invited to be a part of this important ministry.
Helping
Hands:
Helping Hands provides
short-term services, such as meals, transportation, and child care to families
or individuals in the community during times of crisis.
Volunteers can contribute according to their availability.
Visitation:
This ministry offers the
opportunity to meet and support members of the community who are sick and have
requested Holy Eucharist. Those who
choose to serve in this way are instructed in how to administer Communion.
Visits are made according to the volunteer’s schedule.
